Dreamland 1: Zombies and Piglets

The dream world is so weird sometimes. So much so that some of it makes for interesting and funny stories, so I might as well share and get people's thoughts on it. And here's my first! A dream I just had, on Christmas day no less! (Bare with me as my story is rather detailed so you can appreciate how my mind works.)

dream

I was a teacher in my dream. And I was in a classroom that was made of glass, but it was reinforced. Only the room was lighted so beyond it was just darkness. you could only see up to where the room's lights could shine. I was by the door, and when kids would come in, it was my responsibility to open and close the door before unwanted visitors come inside our room. and by unwanted visitors, i mean zombies. Yup, we were a FUNCTIONING class in a zombie apocalypse world.

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Some things are worth melting for.

FINALLY! After weeks of hearing all about how good Frozen was, I finally got to watch it!!! With...eherm...a few guy friends...

And for the first time in forever, the movie went far beyond my already heightened expectations!

frozen-characters
Frozen. One of this era's best animated musicals.

Frozen is about a queen with uncontrollable ice powers and her sister who tries to help her. The plot is relatively simple, but there were some twists in the end that you wouldn't have expected a Disney movie to go. But the movie's real strengths were its wonderful music and amazing visual effects.

Glass City

What do Iron Man, Ender's Game, Minority Report, have in common? Future Tech. We always see movies that feature holographic and touchscreen interactive technology that have functions that are seemingly limitless. Well I watched a video (c/o Martin Mendoza) made by Corning Incorporated, a glass technology manufacturing company and I saw that "movie tech" isn't all that far away from reality anymore. Watch it below.

Five out of Six!

I'm more excited about this than Amazing Spider-man 2. More excited about this than X-Men: Days of Future Past. More excited about this than Batman VS. Superman. More excited about this than Avengers 2!!!! (Not really, but close enough)

Six Seasons and a Movie!!! Let's go!!!

"After everything that Scrubs did for him." Good one Troy.:))

What’s e-sports, you say? E-sports is the all-encompassing term for competitive video gaming. But according to owner Raphael Gancayco, it represents much more. E-sports is the idea that competitive video gaming can be as real a sport as basketball, or football or any Olympic event.

Detour at the 8th Christmas Toys and Collectibles Fair

On my way home from Batangas, a friend told me there was a ToyCon at Megamall. Good thing I had my trusty camera with me, took a few shots of the event floor, which was relatively smaller than the usual toy convention. But cool nonetheless.:)

Celebrating Superman's 75th Anniversary!

Sort of like Harry Potter Z

From time to time I watch fan made movies. You'd be surprised at how good these things are. Below is one of them. It's set in the universe of Harry Potter. No familiar characters are here, but the effects are superb! Pretty cool story, with ok acting, some being better than others. It's worth a look, for anyone who enjoys a great light show.:)

Almost Wolverine

Movie Review: The Wolverine (Blu-ray uncut release)

The uncut Rated R version of The Wolverine was recently released and I thought I’d watch it again to appreciate the difference between the cinema release and to write the review I never got to write.

The Wolverine Unleashed

It’s Wolverine! The badass-est character in the Marvel universe! And it’s Hugh Jackman! But even so those two great thing, couldn’t stop me from feeling disappointed that this still wasn’t the Wolverine I wanted to see. It’s a great action movie. Just not a convincing Wolverine movie.

War Game Glory from Beginning to End…er.

“In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it’s impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves. And then, in that very moment when I love them.... I destroy them.”

Ender’s Game was an extremely enjoyable movie experience - marvelous imagination of the “Enderverse”, beautiful visual effects, masterful cinematography and a really great protagonist, Ender.

Happy-go-lucky Hawkeye!

Comic Review: Hawkeye: My Life As A Weapon TPB

I have a newfound appreciation for Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye!

hawkeye

Hawkeye has admittedly always been one of my least favourite Marvel heroes. He’s just a guy who shoots arrows. He’s an expert marksman but for some reason prefers bow and arrows over a friggin’ gun! And he used to wear a really goofy mask, at that. (Glad they got rid of that) But as it turns out, his humanity (contrast to a god like Thor, or a gamma monster like Hulk) is what made him so endearing in his self-titled book, Hawkeye.
