Adventure Hijinks: Surf’s Up at Baler!

G0180438

Sun, sand, sea and SURF! As if we needed more reason to go to the beach!!!

I used to always see photos of my friends surfing in Baler or La Union or whatnot. And as intimidated as I was with their washboard abs, golden tans, humongous boards and suave, devil may care vibes, I still wanted to try it out myself. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to. And last month, I finally did it! And man was it a thrill!

Adventure Hijinks: Sunny Day At Sandbox!

I was finally able to go to Sandbox (aka playground for adults)! It was crazy hot, there were loads of people and the lines were sick, but all in all, my friends and I still managed to have fun.:)

Adventure Hijinks: Becoming (Aqua) Green Arrow!

Last week I went to Ninja Academy to learn parkour, the first thing I needed to become the vigilante of the night I've always dreamed of being. This week, I've learned the second thing - archery!

Ok, I'm getting WAY ahead of myself. My blog isn't just for me to go batshit about what I did, it's a public service!

Adventure Hijinks: I Went To Ninja Academy

Some articles just don't need witty titles anymore.:)

So yeah, I went to Ninja, bleeping, Academy. But unfortunately, no, there was no ninja killing that happened, but hey, that's not all there is to being ninjas! They jump in and out of places in swift, stealthy fashion. And that's what we covered in Ninja Academy - the first fully equipped indoor parkour training gym in the Manila!

Adventure Hijinks: Don't Panic! Be Quick! Breakout!

There's an app on iPhone called Escape If You Can. In the game you have to get out of a room by looking for clues and figuring out puzzles. You usually just click around for the clues. You search behind paintings, under chairs, in drawers, everywhere! It's insanely frustrating, it's remarkable that I kept playing it as long as I did.

But frustrating as it was, nothing beats the sensation of finally finding that hidden key, or that missing clue that makes everything make sense. Now imagine those feelings and multiply it by 10 - that's what it felt like when we played Breakout!

Games Are Meant To Be Played at Ludo BoardGame Bar and Cafe

"Games are meant to be played."

That is the philosophy behind Ludo BoardGame Bar and Cafe

"Ludo" - Latin for game or play.

Ludo BoardGame Bar is jam-packed with diners on a nightly basis! As in! And it's pretty obvious why that is...

Board games. Tons and tons of fun, exhilarating, board games!

Adventure Hijinks: Flash Mob Fun

IMG_2492a

Yeah, that’s right. I joined a flash mob.

What can I say? I was YOLOing. I’ve always had a fascination with flash mobs, it seems so much fun to randomly dance in a public place. And now I’ve finally joined one! So scratch THAT off the list of things to do while I’m young!:D Woohoo!

Adventure Hijinks: Pew! Pew! Pew! Laser Tag Baybeh!

Running around, shooting people, shouting and screaming - it was absolute MAYHEM!

IMG_2564b

This probably isn't new to most people. But for the few who haven't tried it, or for the fewer who have no idea what Laser Tag is, I want you to know, playing Laser Tag is one of the most fun games you can ever do EVAAAARRR!!!

Adventure Hijinks: Climbing a Mountain

Finally! After years of saying "Gusto ko din matry umakyat ng bundok.", I finally did it! My very first climb!!!

Cray cray!

I went up Mt. Maculot. I was expecting an easy hike. Kept thinking, "how hard could it be? It's just basically walking." A long walk through the woods, a few rocks here and there, and most challenging part being the uphill with a heavy bag behind my back.

I GROSSLY underestimated things. And as we later found out, Mt. Maculot is apparently the HARDEST CLIMB* (*for beginners) in the Philippines!

Adventure Hijinks: Football Night

ah2

I'm starting a new segment. When the new year came, people kept making the resolution to say yes more, or go out more, or try new things. We'll I'm going to try doing things too. It won't necessarily be things I've never done before, but things that are just unique and fun. Stuff you wouldn't normally do. Every entry will be a different activity. And I'm sharing the experience through the blog for you guys who want to try them too!

And what better way to start this segment than with the activity I love the most:

Football! (Or soccer. However you want to call it.)
