Oh my god.

13 hours of being on our feet. My right knee is cramping, one wrong stretch and this is gonna HURT! But it was all worth eeeeeeet!!!!!

Asia Pop Comicon (APCC), the biggest comicon to hit Manila was packed with celebrity guests, entertaining panels, great cosplay sightings, and fun merchandise and giveaways. In a very literal sense, some people's dreams came true that weekend.

Bett's Birthday Bash: Marikina's Lilac Food Street

For Bett's birthday last December, we decided to go on a food trip along Marikina's up and coming food street, Lilac Street!

Did YOU know Marikina had their own version of Teacher's Village's Maginhawa? Well I didn't! It's not yet as packed with restos as our Maginhawa (represent, yo!) but it still has some pretty awesome hole-in-a-wall food spots! And here were some of the places we visited!

For those who don’t know, ToyCon (or Toy Convention) is the single biggest event in the Philippines where comic book, sci fi, anime, video game, and Cosplay geeks are gathered to celebrate all geekishness.

 Bett and I went to the UP Lantern Parade last December 2013. I just wanted to share the shots I got of the coolest floats (and some other stuff) we saw there. This was part of an earlier post about what Bett and I did during her birthday. It's a super late post, I know, but you know what they say, it's better later than sorry.:)

On my way home from Batangas, a friend told me there was a ToyCon at Megamall. Good thing I had my trusty camera with me, took a few shots of the event floor, which was relatively smaller than the usual toy convention. But cool nonetheless.:)

Last Oct. 26, the Saturday before Halloween, the barkada celebrated with a 90s themed costume party. I just wanted to share the costume me and Bett made for the occasion.

Cosplay Crazy

Cosplay Mania was held last Oct. 5 and 6 at the SMX Convention Center. And I’ve been to my fair share of cosplay events through the years, but not one this immense. It’s amazing what a lot of fan passion and creativity can do. 

Arriving at the venue, you can already see just how many people were anticipating the event. SMX overflowed of cosplayers and fans. The scene was painted with colorful characters and enormous props. Photographers had a field day! 

We entered the hall floor and it was like a festival. Merchants were selling all sorts of anime paraphernalia. From your usual shirts, books, posters and toys, to the less usual, like Harry Potter necklaces, Anime pillows, Captain America aprons, to sewing machines. Yup, sewing machines.

For Sale: Bags, pillows, keychains…and aprons?!?!
